Recommended Scariest Horror Thriller Movies on Netflix 2023

 

These films don’t make you just curious. More than that, your guts must also be thick before watching.
These recommendations don’t just come from films with the horror genre. The problem is that this is the scariest show on Netflix 2023.

1. Re/Member

Re/Member tells the story of Asuka (Kanna Hashimoto) being haunted by Haruka, who has died mutilated. He wants Asuka’s help to find his body which is divided into eight parts, “Find My Body!”. Together with his five friends, they mobilize on a mission to get eight of Haruka’s body parts available at their school. They will die and wake up again the same day until they manage to get Haruka’s body.

Released in 2022, Re/Member was adapted from the popular manga by Welzard and Katsutoshi Murase entitled Karada Sagashi which in Indonesian means Body Search. This series was also directed by Eiichiro Hasumi, who is popular through other Japanese films such as ‘Assassination Classroom’ and ‘Assassination Classroom: Graduation’. He also directed the Netflix mini series ‘Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness’. Re/Member features Kanna Hashimoto as the main star. Kanna is a former Japanese idol group, Rev. from DVL who is now a career as an actress. Before starring in Re/Member, he starred in the film Lupine’s Daughter which will be released in 2021 as Mikumo Hojo.

2. Things Heard plus Seen

Things Heard plus Seen is a supernatural horror genre about a couple who have just moved into their new house which turns out to be haunted. Airing on Netflix starting April 2021, this film stars Amanda Seyfried. Things Heard plus Seen is an adaptation of a book by Elizabeth Brundage, All Things Easy to Appear. The film was directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini. Set in the 1980s, Things Heard plus Seen tells the story of the move of a young couple George (James Norton) and Catherine (Amanda Seyfried) with their child, Franny, from Manhattan to their new home in the suburbs.

They changed because George got a job to teach at a local college. In that city, they changed into a house that was originally occupied by a couple who had died. At first their life went smoothly, but slowly turned scary. Catherine starts having problems in her spooky new home. The house they live in seems to have a history of a murder. Not wanting to be constantly overcome by fear, Catherine also seeks to understand the causes of these unpleasant events by communicating with ghosts in her house.

3. There’s Someone Inside Your House

There’s Someone Inside Your House is a slasher horror film about a group of high school students who become the target of a serial killer on their farewell night. There’s Someone Inside Your House is adapted from the novel by Stephanie Perkins. Several big names acted as producers of this film such as James Wan (The Conjuring) and Shawn Levy (Stranger Things). The story, Makani Young (Sydney Park) transforms from Hawaii to a small square of Nebraska. There he lived with his grandmother to finish high school.

One day, Makani and his classmates are followed by a mysterious person who intends to kill them. The figure also plans to uncover the dark secrets of the entire city’s residents, terrorizing each victim by wearing the same mask as their respective faces. Makani and his friends must move quickly to uncover the identity of the killer before they become the next victim.
